LALAL.AI Review: Features, Pricing & Alternatives

AI stem splitter that separates vocals, instruments and noise from any audio or video file.

FreemiumAudio & VoiceReviewed October 2026

What is LALAL.AI?

LALAL.AI is an AI audio separation service that splits a finished song or recording into its parts. Upload a track and it returns separate stems such as vocals, instrumental, drums, bass, piano and guitars, or splits speech from background noise. It is used by musicians, DJs, producers and video editors.

The service is run by Omnisale GmbH, a company based in Risch-Rotkreuz, Switzerland, which built its first separation network in 2020. In 2025 it added a Voice Cloner and expanded multi-stem extraction on mobile, and LALAL.AI says it reached 6.79 million registered users that year. In December 2025 it introduced Andromeda, a new model it says is up to 40% faster with about 10% better separation quality than its predecessor, Perseus.

What sets LALAL.AI apart is focus. Rather than being a full editor, it does one job, stem separation and audio clean-up, and offers it everywhere: in the browser, on desktop and mobile, as a VST plugin inside a DAW, and through an API. Paid plans also include an unlimited relaxed queue.

Key features of LALAL.AI

  • Stem SplitterSplits tracks into vocals, instrumental, drums, bass, piano, electric and acoustic guitar, synth and other stems. You can extract several stems from one upload.
  • Voice CleanerSeparates speech from background noise, music and room sound, which is useful for podcasts, interviews and video dialogue.
  • Echo and Reverb RemoverReduces echo and reverb on vocals and speech recorded in untreated rooms.
  • Lead and Back Vocal SplitterSeparates a lead vocal from backing vocals, so remixers and cover artists can isolate just the main singer.
  • Voice Changer and Voice ClonerConverts a vocal into a different voice using voice packs, or builds a custom clone from your own samples.
  • Desktop app, VST plugin and APIProcess files locally from Windows or macOS, split audio inside a DAW with the VST plugin, or automate separation through the API (Pro plan).

Who is LALAL.AI best for?

  • Music producers and DJs who need acapellas, instrumentals or drum stems for remixes, edits and sampling.
  • Podcasters and video editors who want to rescue dialogue from noisy locations or strip music from a clip.
  • Musicians and developers who want to practise by isolating an instrument, or add separation to an app via the API.

Popular ways to use LALAL.AI

  • Karaoke and backing tracks: remove vocals from a song to create an instrumental for practice or performance.
  • Remixing: pull a clean acapella or drum stem to build a remix or DJ edit.
  • Dialogue rescue: clean an interview recorded in a busy café so the voice is clear.
  • Transcription prep: isolate speech before sending audio to a transcription tool to improve accuracy.
  • Instrument learning: isolate a guitar or bass line to learn a part by ear.

LALAL.AI pros and cons

Pros

  • Strong separation quality on vocals and common instruments
  • Available on web, desktop, mobile, VST and API
  • Low entry price with an unlimited relaxed queue
  • Useful extras such as voice cleaning and echo removal

Cons

  • Free tier is only a short trial
  • Multi-stem jobs use minutes quickly
  • VST plugin and API need the Pro plan
  • Not an editor, so you still need a DAW or video tool

How to get started with LALAL.AI

  1. Create a free account at lalal.ai.
  2. Choose a tool, such as Stem Splitter or Voice Cleaner, and upload an audio or video file.
  3. Select the stems you want, for example vocals and drums.
  4. Preview the result, then download the stems you need.
  5. Upgrade to Lite or Pro if you need longer files, batch processing or faster processing.

Tips to get better results from LALAL.AI

  • Only select stems you need, because each extra stem type multiplies the minutes used.
  • Use lossless WAV or FLAC sources.
  • Use the relaxed queue for non-urgent jobs and save fast-queue minutes for deadlines.
  • Solo each stem before mixing to check for bleed.

LALAL.AI vs alternatives

LALAL.AI competes with stem tools built into larger audio suites. Adobe Podcast Enhance and Krisp are better for real-time or one-click speech clean-up, but they do not split music into instruments. ElevenLabs offers voice isolation alongside voices and dubbing, which suits creators already in that ecosystem.

For full podcast or video editing, Descript and Async (formerly Podcastle) include noise removal inside an editor, while LALAL.AI stays focused on separation quality and music stems. To generate new music, try Suno or Soundraw. See all best AI audio and voice tools.

Our verdict: is LALAL.AI worth it?

LALAL.AI is one of the most focused and affordable ways to split songs into stems or pull a clean voice out of noisy audio. It is a strong pick for producers, DJs and editors who need separation regularly, while occasional users can test it on the free tier first.
