Tabnine Review: Features, Pricing & Alternatives
Enterprise AI coding platform focused on privacy, private deployment and organisational context.
What is Tabnine?
Tabnine is one of the earliest AI code assistants, created by the Israeli company Codota and known for privacy-first code completion. Over time it focused on large organisations that cannot send code to public AI services, offering deployment on-premises, in a private cloud or fully air-gapped.
Tabnine’s Enterprise Context Engine builds an understanding of an organisation’s codebases, dependencies and standards so its suggestions and agents follow internal conventions. In July 2026 the software testing company Tricentis acquired Tabnine to bring this context into its AI quality engineering platform.
Tabnine is now sold mainly through enterprise sales.
