There are thousands of AI tools, and new ones launch every week. The good news: you don’t need to try them all. Use this framework to narrow the field fast.
1. Start with the job, not the tool
Write one sentence describing the outcome you want, such as “turn my meeting recordings into action items”. The clearer the job, the easier it is to filter.
2. Pick the category
Browse the matching category in the Zavify directory: writing, image generation, coding, productivity and so on. Shortlist two or three tools.
3. Check the essentials
- Pricing: is there a free plan or trial?
- Privacy: how is your data stored and used for training?
- Integrations: does it work with the apps you already use?
- Output quality: test it on a real task, not a demo prompt.
4. Run a 30-minute test
Give each shortlisted tool the same real task and compare the results side by side. Note speed, quality and how much editing you needed.
5. Commit, then review monthly
Choose one tool, use it consistently for a few weeks, and review whether it still saves you time. Switch if something better appears.
