VEED Review: Features, Pricing & Alternatives
Browser-based video editor with AI subtitles, avatars, translation, clips and video generation models.
What is VEED?
VEED is an online video editor that runs in the browser and adds a large set of AI tools on top of a simple timeline. You can trim, caption, brand and resize videos, then use AI for subtitles, translation, avatars, eye-contact correction, noise removal and clip generation. Its main audience is marketers, solopreneurs and social teams.
VEED was founded in 2018 by Sabba Keynejad and Tim Mamedov, and Sequoia Capital invested $35 million in the company in 2022. VEED began as a simple subtitle and editing tool, and it has since become an AI-first platform that generates videos as well as editing them, with apps for iOS and Android.
Recent changes include Fabric 1.0, VEED’s own talking-character model, and a Gen-AI Studio that also offers Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Kling. Self-serve plans are now called Creator, Pro and Studio, each with a yearly AI-credit allowance, and VEED raised prices in July 2026. Its strength is having editing, branding and AI generation together in one place.

VEED vs alternatives
VEED competes most directly with CapCut, which is cheaper with strong mobile editing, and Canva Magic Studio, which suits teams already designing in Canva. Descript is better for transcript-based editing of podcasts and long recordings.
Captions is more mobile-first for talking-head creators, and HeyGen offers deeper avatar features. VEED’s strength is having subtitles, editing and AI generation in one browser tool. See all best AI video generators.
Our verdict: is VEED worth it?
VEED is a solid all-round choice for marketers and creators who want a simple browser editor with excellent subtitles and plenty of AI tools. Heavy AI generators should compare credit costs, and budget users may prefer CapCut.
