First: find out where you subscribed

- Your account and chats remain. You drop to the free plan with its limits.

Can you get a refund?
Subscriptions are generally non-refundable for partial months, but refund rules depend on where you paid and local consumer law. Web purchases: contact OpenAI support through the help centre chat. I cancelled but was still charged
Check whether you have two subscriptions (for example, one on the web and one in the App Store) or multiple accounts with different emails. Cancel each one, then contact support for the duplicate charge.
I forgot which email I used
Search your inbox for “OpenAI” or “ChatGPT Plus” receipts, or check your card statement for the merchant name.
Before you cancel: export your data
Go to Settings → Data controls → Export data to receive a download of your chats by email. This is useful if you are switching to another assistant.
